Trying to slow down how quickly myopia (short-sightedness) gets worse is called myopia management. A number of treatments have been developed for this, including specially designed contact lenses and glasses. An innovative new lens has been designed by Hoya specifically for myopia management. The MiYOSMART lens has undergone a 2-year clinical trial with results showing that children wearing the MiYOSMART spectacle lenses had a reduction of 60% in their myopia progression compared to those wearing single vision lenses.
MiSight® 1 day contact lenses are FDA-approved* to slow the progression of myopia in children 8 to 12 years of age at initiation of treatment. The progression of myopia slowed in 41% of children who wore MiSight® 1 day contact lenses as compared to those who didn’t.
